The Need To Move Faster
I only know the basics from what I read off the Internet as far as what Parkinson's is and there is nothing to say that it makes a chess player play better chess or an athlete a better athlete in fact quite the contrary. It has slowed me down so much that it is only recently that I learned of the death of grandmaster Walter Browne who I did meet in person on the tennis courts in Berkeley a long time from now in 1971. I am not saying that I quit playing chess forever but I do believe I am in a state of rest from chess until the feel for the game returns and when that may be is anyone's guess. But in order to keep mentally fit for the game of chess a form of physical exercise is recommended as I had witnessed when I practiced out with Walter Browne who by the way was the same age as myself. He died not too long ago as I had only learned a few weeks ago but it was in 2015 when he died in his sleep.
A very smart man known for his ability for history who I came to know though listening to on the radio of KGO radio 810 and calling in as a caller commented on the death of Bobby Fischer the chess champion who had beaten the chess champion of Russia a very big showdown of the best players of chess. Walter Browne was a runner up not too shabby in rankings and I had the pleasure in working out with Walter Browne in preparation for chess. We were very close in scores when testing one another in tennis.
