Nerves of Neurology
Did I not call for a desist and decease order a kind of self imposed restriction on my backyard flying activities? Yet I violated that order and wound up atop my roof trying to retrieve my crash kite on top of my neighbor's rooftop. With Parkinson's I've no business climbing around the rooftops chasing allusive kites. I never did like heights that is why you will never catch me hang gliding in one of my oversized kites. A hang glider is nothing more than an oversized kite like the ones I fly. And no I am not inviting anyone to challenge me on this point. I've ridden motorcycles for years in a crowded city but I'm warning people it isn't safe there is simply too many unforeseen events of disaster that can happen I won't go as far as saying they will but I say don't gamble your life away. But now I know thanks to my cousin Donna Lowe that I can go down to the Berkeley Marina and catch a good wind with wide open spaces and nothing not one thing to interfere in the flight of kite flying. If you want to see my condition of Parkinson's you can google my name on You Tube and hear my audio and indeed I am shaking but I do swear I can carry a tune and the sound if you don't mind me saying so is as good a professional playing their hit recordings. You will see me shaking after my performance playing the synthesizer and it isn't because I am a rock and roller it is because I need to take carbidopa- Levodopa the same drug as Michael J. Fox takes for his Parkinson's. Keep in mind I am small time I don't have near the budget that these superstars have at their command. It is said that I would stand before a large group of people and make a fool of myself that people will laugh at me. Will if people will laugh at me I hope they have a good laugh and feel better. Does it take Nerves Galore to do what I do? I don't think so.

Comments From My Followers Can Do Me Wonders
I take the subject matter which I write about as matter worth speaking about as well. Merely talking in a casual manner was enough to tip me off and discover the very nature of my fascination with the objects of flight. It begins with the basic object that began with the dawn of the ages. Now I am reminded of the talk show circuits or the news talk shows which invited callers or most anybody with an ideal or a comment on the various news items being discussed. My interests brought to mind a suggestion that I might consider the Berkeley Marina Kite Festival. I have heard of that activity for years but never investigated but I figured why not as I have been to one or two car shows even though not a car buff to any greater degree. Yet a relative of mine mentioned this newspaper article and so I took upon my interest in this craft as something perhaps worth while to observe since I fly kites just about everyday lately which is not your mainstream recreation hobby like gold or tennis or the book club of whatever. So what am I leading up to? Stay tuned I will get there in no time.

When Things Go Wrong
Flying a kite is suppose to be a break from chess something to do and relax and watch the blue skies up above and see the heavens. But when things go wrong the mind doesn't relax and yes the nerves can be even more agitated. Consider the flight of a kite such a flight cannot be completely controlled there are too many unpredictable flight patterns a kite can assume. Kites like anything else are doomed to crash and they do and they always will but they are resilient and often do survive many of crashes. Ignoring them when they get tangled up in a tree is difficult to do. The lure is there and the kite cries out to come and get me rescue me. I've witnessed a man climb a tree to rescue this huge kite of mind so astounded was I to see a man with his hands and arms and legs just walk up a tree. I warn of the hazards do not do what I have done to put a human life in danger just to rescue a kite is high risk. And so I have ceased and will desist from flying any kite in conditions deemed at high risk. There are many open places a kite can fly safe from being held hostage in trees and yes power lines present a problem for kites. If I have any words of wisdom it might be there is no such thing as being too safe. Safety rules.
